Lay off the Dust

Upon hearing that Cincinatti has fired Dusty Baker, I understand that some Nats fans will automatically assume he is a leading candidate for being the next manager of the club. Before we get excited, let's look at Bakers career as a manager.
His record as a manager is 1671-1504, a .526 winning percentage. While that is not bad at all, it's all regular season...Because that's what Baker is, a good regular season manager. He did manage to make it to the World Series with, oh yea THE GREATEST HITTER OF ALL TIME*, Barry Bonds. But Baker has never won the big one. If you want to roll the dice on him, you might as well go with more inexpensive options like Knorr or Ripken that also never won a World Series. Baker's handling of a bullpen is suspect also. So in my opinion, stick with the in-house guy in Knorr and let this team go try and win without bringing in some big name manager just because he's won a lot of regular season games. We'll stay in tuned to what Rizzo does next.
